Serena's retirement - ciao for now xx

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Dear Panty Lovers

its with overwhelming sadness that I say goodbye to Panty Land, real life has finally caught up with my procrastinating ways and I can no longer put off what I need to get done (a year ago!).

My Ask Serena column will remain here on Panty Hog as a public resource for information, should any Panty Trust members with experience wish to add articles, please be my guest, it would be great to see it living on.

If you are a new panty seller in need of advice, please get hold of Panty Trust Volunteers and they will happily assist you with your questions.

As far as Panty Trust goes, I’m going to be a silent director until the new Code of Conduct and the new website are fully implemented, after which, I will no longer take part in new applicant assessments, PT volunteers however will.

Soooooo…… I hate goodbyes, so it is ciao for now!

xx

Is self - verification confusing?

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Question:

HI Serena,

I don't understand which is the best way to verify that I AM A GENUINE GIRL!!  I am a nursery teacher in RL I don't want the guys to think I'm a man or to see my real name. Every panty website tells me I need to supply verification, is this the real case? If I write my name on a card and take photos do I become "verified"? Or do I have to send it to panty trust? What can do about Alertpay showing my real name? PLESE HELP Serena!

BTW I love your column, thanks for sharing your knowledge you're the most accomplished panty seller I've come across. The net seems full of low quality advice and its very confusing at its best.

Teacher's Panties XXXX

Answer:

Hi Teacher, thank you for the vote of confidence : )

There are a number of used panty sites offering some level of self-verification system, it is confusing, which is exactly why some of these systems exists, to confuse you and your buyers. Would your school be a little confused if they thought you had accredit yourself as a teacher? I think they would be.

Offering your buyers and the community a basic verification set of photos holding a sign with your name written on it is always recommend, it provides the receiver a fair idea as to how you look like and it proves they are talking to really is a girl and not Steve. This type of verification is very popular amongst new panty sellers, however, such fairly rudimentary system does not constitute an endorsement of a panty seller or a guarantee of a seller's business practices and ethics. Which is the crucial point! 'Yes she looks like a girl, but she can still be a scammer', is what buyers think.

Buyers no longer buy into the 'self-verification' system as they once did, unfortunately these days buyers expect additional security when evaluating panty sellers, such as how long they've been on the used panty scene, what other buyers are saying about them, where do they sell, and what does the community think about them.

Panty Trust offers much more then a basic visual verification service, a Panty Trust Verified panty seller has provided additional evidence of their business practices by passing essential checks with the help of the PT committee and not an independent individual -   This is the type of verification which increases the overall security (and therefor your sales) of the used panties network because most panty buyers prefer to do business with trustworthy sellers.

The Panty Trust Code of Conduct

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

For most of us, knowing the difference between right and wrong is pretty clear and we generally understand what is acceptable and what is not. Some people ofen draw a line between 'normal' and 'abnormal' sexual behaviour and fetish, but this is not what we are discussing, we are purely highlighting the money-making ethical side of selling used panties. Ethical behaviour is a slightly separate matter then doing right or wrong, used panty ethics are suggested and maintained by the panty community as a whole, however they were not always written down or specifically communicated, which is why in 2006 Panty Trust members decided to propose a Code of Conduct now honoured by all its members (and still very much applicable to the whole panty scene in general).

The Panty Trust Code of Conduct is simple but its not for everyone, sadly there are plenty of people who think that selling underage panties, spamming, rudeness and stealing is perfectly OK, as long as it brings money in.

The members of Panty Trust take fair business practice, civil conduct, and honesty very seriously and are working very hard to improve and update the Code of Conduct in order to keep maintaining the credibility that Panty Trust and its members believe in. All Panty Trust members will have the opportunity to vote for or against these changes once the proposals are ready. Also, Panty Trust can always do with more members volunteering to help with new applicants forms and the day to day running of the organisation, please get in touch with Panty Trust if you would like to contribute with your time. Please remember that joining Panty Trust goes much further then becoming Verified, if you are thinking of joining only to generate more revenue, please look for better alternatives.

A pinch of skepticism and tons of common sense - Fake sellers

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

About 3 weeks ago allegations of questionable behaviour began to surface in connection with a panty seller called Pip of www.mypantiesdrawer.com, a red head from Canada who has been on the scene for over a year.

Her self-promotion quickly brought her a fair amount of attention on various panty sites, although some skepticism and puzzled panty buyers recognized Pip as a 'strange character'.

In retrospect, the inconsistencies in Pip's circumstances were pretty obvious: she claimed not be interested in selling due to personal, work and privacy issues, that she was simply exploring the fetish scene as a 'guest' and she was far too worried about what was happening in Korea to be thinking about being sexual. For someone not interested in making money or selling used panties, she certainty spent an awful lot of time online.

But none of this fakery bullshit mattered much until the Pip persona began to create more personas, change profiles, names and descriptions  - She began to assign herself as Queen the MILF, Miss MoneyPenny the divorcée, Teeny the Uni student, Ella the tired mother etc etc -  These fake profiles managed to go unnoticed until scam reports started to be circulated by confused buyers who one day had been talking to MoneyPenny, a day later a metamorphosed Queen.

By the end of  week 3, a scary picture had unfolded as to how Pip managed to con the community into thinking she was at least 4 different people, all selling panties appealing to various audiences.

Custom Photo Sets? Yes, But We Are Not Models

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Question:

I'm after a bit of advice if you don't mind. I sold a set of custom pics to a buyer after sending him two sample pics, he has now turned around and said that they're not what he wanted. I've replied saying that the set I sent was similar if not better than the original two and that he now has  a full custom pics of me for £ 7 . What's the best way to deal with this? Obviously I don't want to get bad feedback as a newbie.

Answer:

Its not an easy one, nor there is a straightforward way to deal with unhappy buyers.

More often then not, buyers do understand that we are not professional models and we are not photographers, they are happy to know that we make every effort to show how capable we are of using our bodies and our cameras, and that we will do all we can to create  £7 worth of digital material.

Time wasters and used panties - How to spot them

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

One of the biggest pain the backside on the used panties fetish scene, are those seeking free time and stuff from you, with no intention of purchasing any of your panties, ever.  Often, these time wasters will disguise themselves as 'Horny Panty Buyer' or 'Minted Panty Addict', in an effort to get as much of your time as possible. Your time is valuable, and unless you have loads of it spare, try to identify and block these time abusers from your network as quick as possible.

How to spot the time wasting type:

First, time wasters and non-buyers are 2 completely different types, time-wasters will approach you lying about wanting to buy your used panties, non-buyers will approach you to say Hi, and maybe buy your panties in the future. No lies, no problem.

Time wasters will normally buzz around newbies panty sellers, knowing very well that established girls can see them coming and will not even bother to engage. Anyone who's ever emailed me: 'I want your panties now,

Used Panties Carts and Alertpay Check Out

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

As much as most buyers feel that Carts and Check-Outs turn buying used panties into a rather impersonal and 'Amazon like' experience, there are suitable adult friendly e-commerce products you could add to your website to sell your used panties. Be aware that a large number of hosts such as Webs, Yola, Weebly, may offer an inbuilt web store and cart, however, those hosts do not allow e-Adult related trading, which means that they are not suitable for your online used panties fetish business.

First you need to find an adult friendly e-commerce product you can add to your website, second, you need to make sure that whatever method of payment your cart provider is affiliated with, its also adult friendly. For example, www.popcart.net is a slick looking tool, but sadly it only checks out to Paypal and Google Check-Out which is completely useless. The most convenient way to operate your cart would be by linking it to a popular online method of payment such as Alertpay. An adequate shopping cart solutions for the your used panties business could be www.zen-cart.com, its completely free and their add-on features include Alertpay check outs, different currencies displays, a selection of Buttons and Graphics to suit your website look and fee, and much more. The installation requires some techie skills and external hosting space.

In my opinion, you can sell your used panties by having a simple, tidy up-to-date gallery, listing your prices and method of payments clearly, and ask your buyers to email you and say Hi, but if you must, then a legit cart will also work.

Pricing your P&P for small used panties parcels

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Question:

Hey Serena

Is there a fair price for posting the parcels?  do I have to used signed for?  any other advice do you have ?

Answer:

Used Panty Sellers should allow for fair and reasonable post & packaging charges. As far as how to price your parcels, it depends on a number of factors such as the weight, the destination, the size, the content, etc etc.

These P&P costs are indicative, but they are considered to be fair by the used panty buying community:

How to make my used panties website work better?

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Question:

Hi Serena I've set up a used panty site about 3 weeks ago and admittedly I haven't done much but I still thought I'd be getting more enquiries. Maybe I'm not doing it right, and maybe I'm being inpatient, don't know, can you please give me some advice? Do I need to do anything more?

Thanks

Answer:

Growing a small fetish business takes time, we can’t expect orders to arrive overnight, it takes time to build a relationship with the used panties community, sometimes a long time.  Many successful panty ladies websites have a 'presence' which they have worked hard and long for, if to be successful if your aim, you may want to follow some of these suggestions.

Your website is your 'shop window', you should put as much effort into your site as you can, as the quality of its content needs to attract buyers and keep them coming back. A panty buyer will spend only a few seconds browsing a  panty site before they move onto the next one, this means your content must interest them straight away. Make sure the first thing they see is you, preferably wearing used panties they may well be able to purchase. Take time to publish good quality photos and a large organised selection of used panties stock.

Buyers who feel personally connected with you and your site, will be more likely to place an order and return for more. You can connect with your buyers (and other sellers too) by being honest, using an easy and personal writing style, and avoid any 'Amazon style-click- buy-bye-bye carts', as it really does not get any less personal than that.

Maintain a blog -  Blogs are free, easy to create and easy to maintain, you could try wordpress.com, blogger.com, sensualwriter.com, chose a name that is relevant to your website and start creating content daily. Content can be whatever you want it to be, it should be relevant to you, your readers, and your used panty business. A blog will give your network of friends the chance to interact with you, get to know you more, ask you questions, leave comments, etc.

Make sure there is an easy way to contact you, whether that's via an email form or your email address, your prices and methods of payments are very important too, they must be clearly written and easy to find, there is nothing worst then having to email someone to ask trivial questions such as 'do you take credit cards?'.

Take your time, do it right,  and you will the results in no time!

He didn't enjoy my panties

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Question:

Hi Serena, I'm in a pickle, I am a new seller and I only sold 3 pairs of panties. The first sale went fine, the second didn't, the third I don't know yet. Basically my second buyer told me he didn't like my panties and he's asking if there is anything I can do. He's not being nasty or anything, but I don't know what to say to him. I worn the panties like he asked and I masturbated in them like I was asked.

How can I prove it? Please help!

Answer:

It’s never a good feeling when a buyer has a bad experience with your product.  But instead of getting frustrated, simply apologise, use this experience to learn from it, and do right by him if you can.

One thing that buyers love is unexpected surprises, this is because the vast majority will always end up with a disappointing 'ha well' when complaining. As a business girl, you want to make your buyers feel special, but mistakes do happen and your buyer will always forgive a sincere mistake.

The first impulse is to offer your buyer a next-purchase discount. This is fine, but it implies that he can only take advantage of the discount if he purchases another product from you, which at this stage he may not wish to do. Maybe consider an alternative to the discount and offer your buyer a replacement pair of used panties.

Of course it all depends on the nature of the complaint, if a buyer is complaining about your scent not being 'sweet' or 'strong' enough, then a replacement isn't going to fix this. I always believed that as panty sellers, we produce a natural product and we are unable to modify the scent we produce. To put it bluntly, women can't produce a stronger or sweeter pussy scent on demand.

So the question is, do you think your buyer has a reasonable complaint?

If you don't think he has, then perhaps you could offer him a refund, put it down to not being suited for one another, and move on.

How do I price my first used panties?

Written by www.serenassecret.net. Posted in Ask Serena

Pricing you used panty sales

Pricing your used panties is discretionary, however, there are some general guidelines and rules which may help you to decide.

First, let's establish where your buyers are, and which currency they use. If your buyers are US based, its more likely they will be looking at sellers who trade by using US$ other then UK£ or Euros, mostly because the exchange rates can be unforgiving.

An established US panty seller will confidently charge between $20 and $30 for a standard  pair of 24hrs worn panties, including validation photos.   An established UK panty seller will confidently charge between £20 and £25 for a standard pair of 24hrs worn panties, including validation photos.

New sellers with none, or little feedback,  will find less buyers inclined to gamble on large sums of money, which is why they should consider keeping their costs lower then an established seller until they have built significant feedback and/or a good reputation... (click read more)
