Oh and with the uploading issue…
You need to upload a photo at the size you would prefer it to be, make it a thumbnail if you want to save space and click to make it link to file, so when people click it it opens up the picture bigger.
If you dont want people to see it enlarged then click it to None, so they can only view the size you have made it on your blog.
If you want it smaller still you can resize it manually by dragging the corners
