What’s the best way to send items? Are there any where I don’t have to put a return address, or does that even matter?

I think it depends on your location.  Jenns, if you put your location on your profile it helps us to help you, different countries have different rules.

In the UK we don’t have to put a return address to another UK address. 

However if I send to the US I do need a return address in which case I make it up, or alternatively you can put the post office as the return address, I’ve heard that this is acceptable.

I’m in the US and I don’t put a return address on unless I have to ship out of the country, and then I just make one up. Never had any problems.
Occasionally, I’ll have a clerk mention I forgot to write a return address on, and I’ll just reply that I’ve mailed to wherever many times before and I know it’ll get there, but thanks for reminding me for next time. They never insist I have to put one down.

I have a PO Box, is it safe to put my return addy on it?

Hi Cherie (again)  😉

The reason why most of us don’t put a return address or fake one is because we don’t have a PO Box for various reasons, confidentiality, costs etc.  There is no way we will put our real address just in case something goes wrong at customs and it’s traced back, or in case the wrong sort of buyer turns up on our doorstep.

If you have a PO Box then it’s okay to use that as a return address.

Here in Canada, I have to give my address of residence & it is kept on file when I rent a PO Box.  So my PO Box return address would keep stalkers away, but customs has access to who I am & where I live.

So then even if I have a PO Box I shouldn’t put it as a return address? What kind of trouble could we get in with customs? I guess I will just make one up then. Is that the best thing to do?

I’m not sure what kind of trouble you can get into, as it depends what your are sending through the postal service.  But just in case, I’d be using a fake address, & do.

Hi.
I always put my real name and address but, well… I live in Poland and my customers mostly US, UK, Netherlands, Japan:)
If they don’t want to have my details, I put my company name to keep things more “confidential”. PO bok seems to be good idea.
