I’ve been thinking (I know it’s dangerous and I shouldn’t do it!) about encouraging people to report fake sellers and problems with bits n bobs they’ve bought.

Have you considered giving people the option of submiting information with a ‘guest’ or an ‘anon’ name in the ‘report a fake’ section?

I say this because, say for example I’ve spotted a dodgy sites but I know if I announce it to the world then anything I do in the future stands to take a battering from the person whose site I wrecked. Or, like a gentleman buyer on another thread said, they fear a verbal bashing from the seller.

I know it’s something that could potentialy be abused but if you make it available to only registered uses you could make sure that people don’t use it to ‘site bash’ a rival.

I think it’d help bring people forward. xx

Good idea idea p/c but how do you prove it.
My first bad experience was on EBAY remember them.
After a week i enquired about my order and the seller said they were sent.On complaining a second time i was told she wasn’t responsible for the service from Royal Mail.Who knows maybe she was telling the truth ?

Hopefully these people don’t last long……

Good sellers will never need to worry.

Hey Jazzy,

I don’t think there’s a real seller out there that wouldn’t resend something that was lost in the post, if only for the sake of keeping you loyal, but that was eBay through and through (even though I used eBay too!) 

Have to say that in my life time Royal Mail has only lost one of my UK packages, so she/he was probably pulling your leg  🙁

I guess there’s no way to prove it, you just have to hope that when you come forward that it’ll encourage others to do the same.

I’ve considered allowing posts from guests. The real problem with opening up to the non registered though is that a few of our friends in Eastern Block countries will quickly flood the forum with ads for penis enlargement crap, fake Viagra, etc. Since registration is free, and can be basically instant, it shouldn’t be too much of a hassle for someone who’d like to post.

There is no rule that says you can’t have two accounts (need two seperate email addresses) here at Panty Hog. A person can have one that they use regularly, and one that could be used regarding sensitive issues. One aspect that concerns me though is keeping it factual. We have had to remove a few posts from a person who appeared to be simply badmouthing another seller just to cause trouble.

it really isn’t a problem to register and post and the idea of Guests posting is fraught with problems as you say, who wants to see lots of posts by spammers, or edit them all out for that matter.

With free email accounts so easy to set up it’s easy enough to remain anonymous but people should keep their posts factual as you say.

As for others publically badmouthing others etc, you really would think we are all old enough to play nicely wouldnt you?? There isnt any need for it and thankfully its nice to see that all the girls at Panty Hog seem really genuine and wouldnt think twice about helping another fellow seller? :kiss:

… YAY for Panty Hog… and I think we should keep it that nice friendly “community” way too!

However in saying that, if a client really has been ripped badly by a seller I dont think they would think twice about posting in the warning rip off section to genuinely warn others.  Plus it is very unlikely the fakers would be hanging out here, dont you think? (Too dangerous me thinks!)  👿
