MemberJust had a really nice fry up. So wondering what is your thoughts on the best fry up?
For me it has to be the full monty. Nice hot cup of tea. 2 fried eggs, bacon, fried tomatoes, suasages, mushrooms and black pounding.

KeymasterTranslate that into English for those of us in the USA please
A “Fry up” is cooking fried stuff for breakfast I take it?
We’ve got the eggs, bacon, tomatoes, sausages, and mushrooms here but what in the world is “black pounding”?
😉 PK
PS. Are you back on line in full now Meyer?

MemberBacon and eggs – sunny side up but not for too long so the yellow is still runny 🙂
With toast of course!May 24, 2009 at 4:46 pm #25569Mask Man N95
MemberI’m not much into that, but my local pub does have it. I like a good salmon boxty, though, with ketchup and malt vinegar when I’m there watching Man City.
Today, though, probably egg bagels and hummus. I’d kill for some hash browns, though.

KeymasterThanks for the explanation Mary. Yes, pig’s blood pudding doesn’t sound very appetizing  then again, I won’t knock it since I’ve never tried it.
No mention of Belgium waffles so far (technically they wouldn’t count as fried I guess) but since we’re talking breakfast, one of those covered with any sort of gooey topping and whipped cream is one of my favorite breakfasts. A couple of times a year treat for me.

MemberI’m not really into a european fry-up, but I do love brekky. If my stomach can take it, I like waffles with Brummel & Brown and Mrs. Butterworths. A couple of slices of wheat toast. A soy sausage biscuit. Shredded hash browns, lots of ketchup.
Water to drink, or maybe a nice bitter iced tea. No lemon, no sugar.
In reality, it’s usually buttered toast and cheerios in rice milk.
The other day, I was in Solana Beach, about 10 miles north of town, and there was a British foods market in the strip mall there. I am kicking myself for not picking up some marmite. Marmite and butter on toast is the best!
