MemberI always write “socks” and mark it as under 5.00. If you mark it over that then the customer may have to pay taxes!!
If I am posting pillowcases or bodices etc Ill say t-shirts/ aparrel.
you can write anything believable .. just avoid the obvious

Membermontrealqueen,
As a buyer who gets lots of goodies from Canada
The labels on my packages that i receive are marked up with various different items, but never what is really in them 😉
As Cindy said……small one are normally marked up as socks but larger one include t/shirts, hankies and in one case, hair rollers lol Don`t ask :laugh:Mike

Keymaster“Garment sample” works well and is entirely truthful. Even if the package were opened, it would be hard to argue that it was fraudulently labeled.

MemberYep, great advice. I write gloves, socks, handkerchiefs, or garment sample on my packages going “out” of U.S.
Cindy had a very good point though of listing the value less than 5.00 USD. 😉

MemberMaybe I’m not marking my packages right, but I haven’t noticed anywhere where I should write this information.
Is it in a form that is not used in the US? Or should I write it on the package itself?
I’ve sent a few items to canada and the UK and haven’t had a shipping problem, so should I just keep doing it the way I’m doing it?
So confused, lol. :crazy2:

MemberIts a small green sticker which is called a CN22, you should be able to pick them up freely at your local post office, or THEY should stick one on for you to fill out if they stamp it up for you .. without that on it, customs are far more likely to open your packet when sending out of your own country.

MemberThe CN22 is white in the UK, about 2″ square. Only takes 2 mins of your time but could save you buyers a lot of trouble and time

MemberAnni, I’d like to add that once you use this form, don’t separate it. (You fill out green portion. White portion is their copy/receipt). Otherwise, the post office will make you fill out a new one. :rolleyes:Â
They like to witness you separate the perforated form there or they’ll separate it themselves because they keep the white portion for one month.
At least that’s what 3 different post offices have said to me. I have 2 nearby and one on the way to work (different county) so I guess I can only speak for Chicago area post offices.

MemberYou’re welcome smt Sorry for crappy picture, but the flash made it glow lol
I apologize also for not showing scale (shoulda put a coin on it ah well) It’s roughly 4″ by 7.5″ including receipt but the green portion is 4″ by 3″ with an adhesive backside.
Hope that helps lol. You can go to USPS and order them to have them sent right to your door for free, but I just ask the post office for some. They’ll give you a dozen or so.
