So far by what you have said, your buyer seems to be very honest and open as to what he has done, sounds like you have a good one there?
As for the Royal mail, you can still ask them to show you who signed for it if you go down to your local sorting office. The reason while its only shoing up as delevired today is probly because the postman only handed in the form today.

ps, Just take the letter and some form of other ID with you as well

Anyone can sign for a recorded letter in your house, but if a neighbour signs for it and is left with him, the postman MUST put a card though your letter box to tell you that he has left it wth the neighbour.
